Soul Mirror

About this book

Liying Li’s English-language poetry collection uses introspective language to turn the reader’s attention inward. Its first half contains approximately forty lyrical poems; the remaining poems adopt a more conversational, spoken style.

The two approaches give the volume a change of pace and voice, placing lyrical expression alongside the immediacy of everyday speech. Soul Mirror introduces a personal poetic practice through these contrasting forms of expression.
