Sonia’s experience spans television production, publishing, documentary filmmaking and art institutions. Her media background includes CCTV, CBS and MTV Asia, where she founded the mainland Chinese music television program Tian Lai Cun. She holds a master’s degree in television production from CUNY Brooklyn College and founded Long Publishing Corp. in 2019.胡桃的經歷橫跨電視製作、出版、紀錄片與藝術機構，曾在 CCTV、CBS 與 MTV Asia 工作，在 MTV Asia 創立中國大陸音樂電視節目《天籟村》。她獲紐約市立大學布魯克林學院電視製作碩士學位，於 2019 年創立 Long Publishing Corp.。

Her documentary From Stone to Stone received Best Director at Berlin Indie Film Festival in 2024 and Best First Time Filmmaker at Munich Short Film Awards in 2025. Her work connects cultural storytelling with the study of art and human creativity.紀錄片《From Stone to Stone》獲 2024 年 Berlin Indie Film Festival 最佳導演與 2025 年 Munich Short Film Awards 最佳首作導演。她以文化敘事連接藝術研究與人類創造力。

Born in Beijing and moving to New York in 1988, Sonia developed a career that links broadcast media with literature, documentary and contemporary art. Her personal website lists 15 published books across nonfiction, fiction, poetry, film essays and biography.胡桃生於北京，1988 年來到紐約，工作經歷連接電視媒體、文學、紀錄片與當代藝術。她的個人網站列有 15 部已出版作品，涵蓋非虛構、小說、詩歌、電影隨筆與傳記。

Her family memoir and oral-history work explores how personal lives carry cultural memory across generations. Her curatorial experience at Memor Museum brings that research into dialogue with contemporary artistic practice.她的家族回憶錄與口述歷史實踐，探索個人生命如何跨世代承載文化記憶；在 Memor Museum 的策展經歷，又將這些研究與當代藝術實踐相連接。
